  • Anyone painted frame silver??

Has anyone seen a black kat with a silverframe?????
    How would it look??

I was thinking of painting my frame silver to make it look like the GSX-R alu-frame, but would like to see how it would look before proceeding.
Does anyone got a picture to show???

If you using a spray gun... Its quite spendy but Alsa has a paint out called ghost chrome. when you scuff the pieces then spray you can see the sand scratches and it looks like brushed aluminum. Just thought I would mention that.
Can't blame me for something I don't remember.

seqex34's frame is not completely sprayed, just the bar you see. he masked off the area, and covered the engine with news paper so it wouldnt over spray, but quiet clean i might say, the only reason i know this is because he goes on are wi/ill rides. it does look good and i would say do it, even if its only the bar itself, the whole frame will give ya a rep from me for sure

I would love to do it to mine just to paint it one of the two colors that I am using but don't want to take everything off of the bike to get it done.

hehe.. you are all soo clever. BUT are you all colourblind????

Is anyone of theese BLACK Kats. and i found the other pic when looking around for pic with BLACK kat and silver frame.
Seqx34 is also NOT a black kat.

But i get the picture and i will wait until summer and the heat is here before painting the frame. Have no Painting booth.

Well, you can do what i did, take the front end off and the swing arm, get a buddy and bring the bike in your basement, let it sit down there for a day and maybe get a space heater and paint it. also, a homemade paint booth is easy to make, painters plastic, pvc tubing, duct tape, dryer hose (to a window), fan, and some good lighting. its ghetto, but it works. the fan isnt nessesary, but sucks up alot of overspray

HVLP is not bad in the garage for bike parts. I just cleaned the hell out of mine top to bottom, put plastic over everything that I did not want to get paint on and to cover any remaining dust that might still be on the floor. The real trick is running the humidifier out there the day before painting. This will make any airborn dust weigh more and fall. Shut it off, open the garage door enough to put a couple of fans blowing out and hang your parts from the center garage door track.
