I have to agree with ebrookshier. Ive done the same repair on B12S fairings that were broken almost completely in half. I use the fiberglass cloth-not mat- and J-B quick epoxy.On the outside it was finished with Kitty Hair, kinda like bondo except with fiberglass strands. I've had standard fiberglass repairs fall off after awhile. I'll be repairing my 96 Kat600 soon the same way, it was repaired before I got it with glass & resin, starting to come apart now.

Does that statement not confirm previous posts that fibreglass repairs on ABS plastic is not suitable/durable?
