Here are some pics of my attempt to paint my Kat, I had a friend do some repairs to the left fairing so I thought it would be nice to paint the rest of the bike at the same time. I will hopefully have the bike back together today. and will post more pics when I am finished.

Looks like it's going to be a really nice color. Also looks like you guys did a good job. nice work and good luck with putting it all back together with no scratches.

What kind of paint did you use - DuPont?

It might sound stupid but after I painted mine and I was about to put it back together I put on rubber gloves that way there wasn't any grimy fingerprints all over the bike because they say you shouldn't wash the bike for a while.

                looking good

That's a cool color, the pics should be great ! Just remember dont tighten down all the bolts on the fairings too much or you'll squish the paint.

I used Endura paint EX-2C Topcoat http://www.endura.ca/ along with a spray on plastic adhesion promoter, and a high build primer.

I originally thought I would use PPG base/clear but the guy at the local auto parts store suggested I try this. Its a 1 part paint and under half the price It went on real nice, even for a first timer like myself.

I had the bike all together and zipped out for a ride.... and the plugs fouled and I had to limp back home and tear the farings off to change out the plugs, hope to get to the assembled pics tomorrow.

Thanks for the encouargement and support

Here is the progress so far. I am planning on doing the tank this fall as well as a touchup to the plastic as my sanding wasnt as great as it could have been.

I have been waiting since April for a new speed screen I ordered from a dealer in Vancouver. I finally convinced him to give me my money back. Hopefully I will have better luck online.
