  • Need to know...

After looking through the threads here, I have been unable to find some answers. Hope ya'll can help:

Ordering new chain and sprockets. Need to know how many links in chain and what is stock toothing on the sprockets?

Going with RK 530 X ring chain and looking at Renthal sprockets...unless there is a better brand of (non aluminum) sprocket out there.

    Advice/suggestions please?

I run 15/47 Sunstar steel sprockets on mine. No issues, but not the most flattering looking sprocket out there by any means. I also run the 530 RK X-ring and have had no problems with it either, holds lube well and when aligned properly, a very quiet chain. I have roughly 5K on the combo to date.

120 links will get you covered with that, actually takes 118 iirc.

This (and maybe this too) may help you. Lots of other good info there too.

I do not have any recommendations on sprockets.

Got a hookup from a member here, with his preferred hometown shop in Ohio. The owner hooked me up with 15/45 geared JT steel sprockets, and an RK 530 X ring 116 link chain for $185.

I will have them in hand Wednesday.

        Thanks for your replies.

By the way...I have 31,000 plus miles on my EK 530 X ring chain on OEM sprockets. Toyal milage is over 36,000 today. Not bad life, if I may say so. I'm pretty anal about my chain, though.

Hey, nothing wrong with being that way with your chain(s). Without them, the kats are nothing more than noisy paperweights.
