  • Is this a good deal for quality parts?

    2000 Kat 600

I've been searching and reading and re-reading everything I can find on here about chains and sprockets. RK seems to be a safe bet for a chain, and I've seen mixed opinions on Vortex stuff.

Is this a good deal? http://www.motosport.com/motorcycle/...I;GSX600F;2000

Does it come with a rivet link? If not, will this one suffice? I can't find a gold one to match the chain http://www.motosport.com/motorcycle/...R-LINK-520-GXW

Now I know it's a 520, but I'm really thinking cost at this point. I'm nearly done getting this bike ready to ride, and sacrificing some chain/sprocket life to save a little dough is worth it to me. The sprockets on the bike look good, but the chain has sat for so long without TLC that it's not safe. The o-rings are dry and falling off, so I'm not risking keeping it on there.

I got basically that set delivered to my door for $149.99 from sumofallparts.

It lasted right at 10k miles with lube every 3-400 miles.

      Warning: Chain semantics below.

The master link is the 118th link, correct? I'll be removing 3 links from this chain and adding the master link?

Links come out in pairs, so you can't remove 3 links.

I'm counting each link as 2 outer plates, 2 inner plates, 2 pins, and 2 rollers. The master link will be the final outer plates and pins for the 118th link. Not correct?
