Painting the rims..

For those of you with painted rims, did you prime, paint and clear or just paint and clear? Laer Bros, thanks for the replies

sandblast, prime with metal etching primer, base, and then clear

For wheels I would put at least 3 coats of clear. (actually I would powdercoat them, but that wasn't the question ).
