  • front forks and alignment

so now my questions is, while my front forks are sitting on my jack stands with the front wheel off, they "swivel" or "rotate" but the handlebars seams to stay the same??? am i just imagining this or am i messing up my "alignment" or what do i need to do to keep the wheel in line with the handlebars???? thanks guys

It is not your imagination. With the axle out, there is nothing to keep the bottoms from rotating. Once you put it all back together, it should be ok.

I remember SpecialK posting something about this a while back. Maybe someone with a 98+ will post up and help you out. The pre-98's have a plate to hold the fork bottoms straight.

But it needs to come off if the wheel comes off..
The Forks spin (if that is what you mean) just fine..
If they wiggle, not so much.
