Is there a difference between rims designed for Bias Ply tires and those designed for Radials ???

I want to use radial tires on my 1100 but don't want to screw up and crash because of a stupid tire to rim error.
BTW - the stock rims are B16 2.75 Front \ B16 3.50 Rear

) , and Pirelli actually lists a bias as their recommended replcaement (Pirelli Sport Demon) , but most people have radials on them (I have the Pirelli Diablo Stradas) . I'd IMAGINE if it were a problem , tire companies would be pushing more bias tires for a bike that NEEDED them to reduce risk of liability ....
