  • swing arm question!

I know you guys probably see this thread a lot of times but im tired of that skinny tire look at my rear so was wondering if any of you know what is the best way to get a wider wheel and tire on a 90 600 kat ,

i know that if i only slip a wider wheel on my stock swing arm it might rub or there be very little room, so is there any donor that will be a direct swing arm fit to my katana been looking for swingarms online and looked at some good ones like the 01 02 gxr swing arm or the 99-02 r6 swing arm if y'all be nice enough to guide me in the right direction will be greatly appreciated !

This is place to post up your long term projects. Projects that took you a while to get done. Post them here. Examples like kwebbel's build up , B-12 engine swaps, swing arm swaps etc..would go here.

You can also go slightly wider with a post rim

      The short answer is No.

The yes answer is, how much do you want to spend?

A post rim will afford you a wider tire, and there are plenty of guys here that can drag hard parts on their Kats with only a size or 2 wider tire.

The common method is to modify the existing swing arm. There's no real easy swap. Kreylyn is the guy to talk to if you want to do it yourself. If you want him to do it for you he will, but be prepared to pay, no matter which way you do it, it's not a $20 mod.
Get over yourself. For me to think you are an idiot, I would first need to think of you.

but all he does is modify the swing arm. you still need custom spacers and a custom axle, custom brake arm

Have you talked to him? Pretty sure he's figured the whole thing out. There's quite a few kats on this board that have his set up on them. More than one in my garage alone (and at least one fewer than there should be. Get on the ball honey or I'll have to get all naggy and stuff)

Proper modifications to the swingarm allow you to use stock OEM made parts from different bikes that go with the wheel, or wheel size.

My build thread is several years old, and way out of day for the current way I do things, thought I'm pretty sure I've posted some updates mentioning that...
