  • Time to Brakes

It's time to change my brake pads. I ordered EBC and they should be here middle of next week. I checked the manual and posts on the forum. It looks pretty straight forward (but never is). Pull the from calipers and pins and pull the rear cover and pins. Does anyone have any insight on things to look out for? Thanks in advance...

Just be careful pushing the pistons back in. Don't want to skew them or the seals. Use a G clamp and a bit of padding to press them in gently.

Put a bit of copper slip on the back of the pads to make them easier to pull off on the next change.

Don't forget to scrub the pistons before you push them back in. It's been years since I've done them on a Kat but it was pretty easy. Might as well do the fluid while your at it.

I have to do the VFR's in the spring, not looking forward to the brake fluid change. With linked braked there's 5 or 6 points I have to bleed them at lol.
