  • Suspension slop

Out working on bike, test fitting pieces and started noticing excessive play here and there all over the suspension.

    1. swing arm dog bone mounts=3/8 play side to side
    2. swing arm mount in frame 3/16 side to side play
    3. frame pivot mount = 3/8 play

I realize my bike is 16 yars old, but with everything torqued to specs, new bearings, sapcers, caps and everything this is an awful lot of play for a suspension.

The deflection alone would cause alot of wallowing in corners.

Guess my question is. Has anyone else done these measurements and found this play throughout the range of suspension pieces. I'm going to have custom machined spacers to get this slop out of it, but just wondering if anyoen has encountered this.
One project done, now on to the next few!!

I just rebuilt my rear end..
    No play anywhere...
    Sorry..
The dogbones, linkage and mounts should all
bolt tight. Maybe you have the spacers mixed up?
Or the wrong spacers for your bike?
