  • SV1000 MC on the Kat?

From an '03 SV1000. Does anyone have any first hand experience with these on a Kat?

These are also the same ones used on the '01 GSXR 1000

I just bought one to try so I was just curious and also wanted to know if I'll be the first to try it.

He's asking if anybody has used a master cylinder from and sv on a kat.

Black peter has done a gsxr mc swap. He's the only one I can think of at the moment. There are probably others too

                    The reservoir is tricky.
The bandit clamp has a lug for the rear view mirror. It's likely that clamp will work on the MC.. Then you can attach it there.
I made a bracket that fits into the pinch bolt on the top tree. It wiggles a little but no big deal.

The 1k's have radial brakes don't they?

You'll have to get creative on the mount....or you can look for a MC that mounts to itself, I know the 05 gsxr reservoir mounted to the clamp that munted the MC to the handle bar.

Near as I can tell radials only showed up in 06..
You might be able to use a radial. I'm not sure what the piston volume is.

The MC I bought came off an '03 SV1000S (59600-40F00). Ron Ayers shows it as the same MC as the '01-'02 GSXR and all SV models up to '07 appears to use the same MC too. I may be able to mount it to the clamp. We'll see when I get it.

That looks really similar to the MC on my Gix.
