Default New Kat owner- 1990 750 restoration project!

I've ridden dirt my whole life. I'm 42. Got my first street bike today!

Picked up a running but rough 1990 Kat 750.

It's all complete. Runs poorly and the fairings need some attention and rebuilding, and overall it's just really filthy and grimey.

It will be my winter project after I finish my annual off-season work on my YZ250X.

Got it for $300 so I think I did OK.

I've already learned a ton here about bodywork so after I get the carbs sorted I'll tackle that.

I have worked on this family of engines before. I built a Yamaha Warrior with a 1989 GSXR 750 motor from a wrecked bike I bought. It initially ran similarly to this bike and I managed to get it sorted and I'm a 2 stroke guy so carbs are my happy place.

Wish me luck!
