  • bad gas???

    Hey I ned some help!!!

Finally I picked up my bike from the storage and when I startered it... it did it nice and fast, but when I gave it some gas it shut down. now it won't start and some explotions come from the exaust.

I think that it is the gasoline that is bad because the bike been stop for 3 months. you guys know of something I can put in the gasoline so it cleans the carb??? I don't want to take the carb off to clean it.

did you put stabilizer in the fuel tank and run it for a while before storing it?If not your carbs are gummed up and need some cleaning as well as a sinc......get a valve adjust while your at it......and check your air filter and brake fluid..chain and sprocks ect....ect....

3 Months? Yup, the gas is bad. You need to drain it out (you ought to drain out what's in the carbs too, but you could run fresh gas and hope it does the trick), and then top off with a high-detergent fuel and some techron or other cleaning/additive package.

Well, that'll teach you to never park for that long without putting fuel stabilizer in it at the outset...

And to answer your question, no, there is nothing on the planet that will rejuvenate fuel properly for your purposes once it's already turned bad...
