here is the gs550 that was purchased for a whopping $200
once i got it into the shop and started tearing it down, it actually looked a lot cleaner than I thought. aside from a new gas tank, chain and carb kit...the rest is just a bit of cleaning and some paint.

the chain and all through the rear is the dirtiest and needs a good cleaning.

The tank is the worst. hopefully I can find another....or someone who can rebuild this one.

Is that something like epoxy or bondo on the underside of the tank?

it is mine...sort of. it is in a huge factory that only has part of the building being used. we rode by it last friday when we went throught that last town we gassed up in before hitting the highway back to magog.
1500 or so sq ft....electricity, fork llift, alarm system, industrial size air compressor included for $320 a month. a bit steep for what i use it for at the moment...which is just my tinkering around for myself, but this winter I will use half of it to store bikes. if i can get 15 at $150-200 for the season, it will pay a big chunk of the rent for the year until I start generating a revenue with the place. in all honesty though, even if I have to keep paying it all out of pocket, I will keep it until I buy my house and build a shop that size. I am addicted to the workspace....so it is pretty much my favorite place to hang out in and do as I please. I used to spend more than that a month in a bar...so this is much more productive and keeps me out of trouble...lol
