  • WHO RIDES TO WORK?...

It's a sad situation when the best part of your work day is the ride TO work, and the ride FROM work. I don't have a particularly fantastic route to work but it is 40 miles each way and it's on the bike. Who else rides everyday to and from work?

When I'm not laid off (It's been a slow year) I ride to work. 70kms (43 miles) each way. It can be all highway, but half way to work I get off theHighway and hit the service roads to get some corners in .

I ride to work when I don't need to carry a bunch of stuff. In the restaurant biz, we got 3 restaurants here in LA so I do a loop, Gardena, to Panorama City, to West Covina, to Cerritos and back to Gardena. In my car, just driving alone in traffic can take over 5 hours, but on my bike is fun times and carpool baby! use about 75% of the tank a day
Ray - Thank you, may I have another?

I do but unfortunately it's only 5 miles to work...I try to extend it sometimes by jumping on the Freeway but that only lasts an exit or 2....

seypea--you are in CA...are you going to Frisco's tomorrow night?? It's in the City of Industry off the 60 and 57...don't know where you live but if you can make it...actually if anyone can make it...they do draw a big crowd...about 3 to 4x the size of Bravo Burger on a good night..

96 miles round trip here. About 75 of it is interstate, but the other miles make it all worth while.

As long as theres no snow or ice.....I ride.

It was 29 degrees F this morning and I rode all the way in with a smile on my face. Ran into a female Kat rider on a 96 Kat600 with a smile as big as mine.
You can have my Kat when you pry my cold dead butt from upon it.

rain or shine bro, I ride 53.6 miles each way, from driveway to driveway. I have put a new tire on the bike just recently and already have almost 4,000 miles on it. I posted a thread about that tire.

              Seypea, you in Gardena??!

I'm there all the time. That's where BlackFalcon lives. He'll be glad to know there's another KatRider in the neighborhood!!! Every Sat we're at Gardena Bowl or Starbucks on Artesia and Western.

Only when the weather permits. 45 miles each way mostly freeway though.

I USED to ride to work every day I could , and it WAS the best part of my day . Even though it was all highway for about 25 miles , and it was on my dresser Virago . Never road the Kat much to work , as I got it when I started working nights (25 miles of highway at night is kinda boring) , and I was just wasting my tires with all the highway travel .

When the weather cooperates, and when I was carrying cargo, I did whenever possible. Now, with passengers, and wearing a white shirt and tie, I just can't ride. I only ride when I am taking care of administrative stuff like instructing days.

I ride to my client sites... it's not the same place every day (nor do I have to go to sites daily), but it's usually 15 to 40 miles each way and always a blur of speed and joy...

                            Cheers,

I ride to work every chance I get.. it really makes the otherwise boring commute worthwhile.. the grin I have lasts from the second I get on the bike till the second I get off at work ...then starts right back up as soon as leave to go home.
