  • Finally!

After all the syncing, cleaning, checking for air leaks (repeat 10x)...I finally got the bike running really good.

Oh, and the air leak??? Just so happens that I have kept the air box attached to the carbs to make it easier with installation. Well, the ENTIRE time, boot on carb #1 was pushed into the air box, causing an air leak...so glad it was that simple.

I'm going to put all the fairings back on and hopefully get to take it on my first trip this weekend (I've only had a 1/4 mile stretch down my road and back to ride on without a tag and all).

After installing everything I did notice that when I blipped the throttle the bike would bog down bad,so I may need to adjust the A/F screws again (then again I didn't give the bike enough time to warm up)

Ok, enough with my rambling, I'll post pics tomorrow!

My first bike in 25 years (five years ago) was an 83 GSX750ES. I unwittingly stowed a folded cloth near the air intake beneath the seat and more or less choked it out. Talked to the prev owner and described all of it..."Is the passage to your air intake clear?"...mmmmm hhhmm

Update: bike won't start.....after adjusting the A/F screws back to 2.5, the bike must be flooded or something as of this morning. I'll tinker with it some more when I get home

Sorry to hear about all your troubles. Look at it this way at least you know the bike inside and out...

Oh she's running good now. I was alone with the bike for once with no distractions for 4 hours, got her running fine now!
