well Yesterday afternoon my friend went to go look at an 88 cbr "hurricane" and wanted me to go with to have a second opinion i guess. Well firtst off it was a 600 had the same power ratings as the kat 600 and weight roughly 50lbs less. So as we looked at it there was obvious wear and tear clips missing that hold fairing, blinker held on by zip ties and other little things. as far as the mechanical condition it sounded good and looked good from what we could see. Both tires were new and fresh oil and plugs. i as well as him test drove it and i saw some things that needed some adjusting. throttle was way sensitive just resting your hand on the grips which made engine rev a lil bit. stuff like that not big issues but easy to deal with.
As for the test drive (mind i read reviews on this bike) the bike was smooth, quick and responsive just like they said. Although the kats are more confortable than this CBR. but the biggest issue ppl complain about this CBR was vibrations from engine transfering though the handle bars. i did noticed that as well which after long rides i could see a persons hands feeling numb after a long ride. The engine was a bit noisier than the kat too. But all in all it was every bit like the kat except it felt it handled better. so i told my friend i think the bike would be a good fit for him. he said he liked it and felt confortable and rode good for his size too. he bought it and know i got another buddy to ride with lol.
I was wondering as well has anybody else rode one of these honda Hurricanes if so is there anything he should look for as a future issue like reliablity. i noticed this bike looked like it wasnt very user friendly like the kat when working on it.
