  • "Supersprox" Rear sprocket swap POST to PRE 600cc ?

I'm thinking of buying this sprocket but the company only offers the sprocket for the POST 98 models and I have a PRE 600. This sprocket looks bull dog tuff or maybe not but they have a life time warrenty. They also are suppose to out last the pure aluminum models. I just want to show it off a bit before I make the buy. I was told this sprocket may fit because the bolt pattern is the same. What about the width?
Anyone own one of these things?
    Thanks

Pretty much nearly all of the 5 slot cush drive suzuki rear wheels use the same sprocket bolt pattern/sizes that I have been able to find.

      Katana pre/post 600-750cc, rf600, gs500, bandit 600, and so on...

There are differences on the GSXR models through the years because they changed from 5 slot, to 6 slot, 530 pitch to 525 to 520 pitch, so on... most of the other bikes though didn't change all that much.

      Simple answer: Yes

And thank you again but you never said anything about the width . I dont know if the other sprockets are cut different ( bolt hole depth?) like if they are recessed or anything.
I'm just seeking other opinions. That all.
But I know,... your the man.

Personally, I've never seen a "recessed" or offset sprocket. They are always flat as far as I know. And I believe the width is determined by the size of chain it's meant to fit. Any bike with a 530 chain should have the same width sprocket.

So, I bet it will fit. The only variables should be bolt pattern, number of teeth, and chain pitch/size. As long as those are known, I think you'll be fine.

Some of the OEM sprockets had variable width surfaces for the center to cut weight... but the pitch does specify the width of the teeth portion. There isn't a difference in offset because it's just one side that is milled down. The back side is flat, and sits against the wheel. I believe they did for weight reduction... or just for looks, who knows.

The minor variances in thickness would have no effect on the bolts that hold them on though. Your talking 1-2mm in thickness, and there is more than enough bolt there for that.

            For example... see this sprocket.

                Thats what I'm talking about.
                You guys rock !
But why do they even list the part as 98+ instead of just listing the part as -98 to 88 or what ever years?
I'm sure the retailer wouldnt mind make a few more sales.
So you can understand why I was alittle uncertain.
