Finally got my seat cowl ready for prime and paint
Went to my local specialist auto paint shop with my paint code obtained from colorite as per this thread : http://katriders.com/vb/showthread.p...ht=paint+codes
It's Candy Grand Blue YC2 fyi.
I was told that I would need 3 cans, 1 silver base coat, 1 YC2 topcoat, 1 clear laquer. Total cost £40:00.
Apparently the topcoat is 57% clear in order to get the 'candy' effect and the silver basecoat shows through the topcoat. He said I would be better taking it to a paint shop and get someone to shoot it for me as with that much clear in the aerosol it would be difficult to get an even coat with no runs.
Just wanted some feedback from you guys? Btw this would be my first 'serious' attempt at spray painting .
