tail fairing up grade

I need some information on making my tail fairings look more up to date, or just plain better.

I would like to go for a look like this one here.

That is Speedees old set up there. 98 end. He has since updated it.

So you want the look of the 98+?

Not sure if that has been done yet. I thought I saw someone who did it with a pre 98 frame somewhere in KR though.

I wanna go for the bigger body look, i have a 1989 katana but wanna add fairings from a 98 + katana.

Well I have seen one member switch from the pre98 fairings to the 98+, I just can't remember who it was..:

But I am thinking it would be alot of work to to it.

I guess anything could be done. Probably the easiest is to find the frame with a crash front. Cut the rear off and reweld to yours. Then all the mounting tabs would be there.

I owned both at the same time and there is a fair amount of difference under those fairings .. while I am sure it wouldnt be imposible .. I would say it would be a considerable amount of work .. from memory .. Yje grab bar mountings and some of the fairing connections are different ..

if I have an 01 can i bolt an 05 tail on or does it need to be modded?

It will bolt directly. I did it from a 98 to 05

The new tail fairing, tail light with mounting bracket and undertail. A new longer seat lock cable also.
