What Year R6 Shock Do I Need For A Pre

    Yes the R6S has a different end on the bottom of the shock shaft. The R6S will not work.

              Actually if you want a mod free install that is not the correct shock, You will need to modify the battery box for that shock.

                Well now I'm really confused; I thought an '08+ R6 shock would fit without any mods. What am I missing here?

                  That one worked for me.It is close but not contact.Is there a difference in year models that allow it to work?

                    Yep there is a diff and that Ebay shock is a 07 not a 08+. Take a look at the first pic in the first post and that will show you a 08+ R6 shock. Notice the two adjuster are missing and integrated into one on the 08+. That allows more clearance between the battery box and the shock on a pre.

                        Ok, I know this is an old thread, but where is the picture of the correct shock?? There is only one pic of a shock in this thread, and I dont know if that is the right one.

                                There are quite a few groups of people buying up the clevis style shocks.GS500,Katana,Versys,Ninja 650R,and I am sure there are others.I regret trying to hold out for that >$50 R1 shock some have bragged about.
