Is he crazy, or the smartest man in the sport? http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2012/May/120517b.htm

Sounds like a smart move to me, if he isn't enjoying it, why continue?

Not sure right now who said it but the quote goes something like, "The secret to happiness is to figure out what you love doing and then figure out how to get paid to do it." If you don't love doing it anymore then the right thing to do is to find the next thing you love doing.

BL: Good for him. I'd bet there's a lot of people who wish they could walk away from what they used to love and go look for something new.

Maybe he'll show up on the Superbike class some day down the road like Max did?

I really hate this. He's one HELL of a racer and one of my favs out there. My brother is beside himself over this because he is a Stoner fanatic. Rossi can see retiring, but not Stoner. I can understand and respect his reasoning though. Its a dangerous sport and if your hearts not in it anymore, then why take the risks. I hope he can hold Lorenzo off and retire a back to back champion. Ive already got tickets for Indy this year, so at least I'll get to see one of his last races.

Maybe Ben Spies will step it up, now. One can only hope!

Just as a reminder, The Isle of Man TT starts in the next week and a half. That is by far my favorite race!

I admire any man who can put his family first. Casey has nothing left to prove, and I wish him all the best wherever his life's journey takes him.

Pretty sure he can make a decent living in the motorcycle industry after a fine career like that, but who knows, maybe he wants to drive a cab :bunny2

Stoner never got a fair shake by many fans and journalists because he beat Rossi in a straight up, fair championship (2007.) I can see how he'd get tired of that.

Honda burns up another good racer.

Look back into Hondas racing history and see that they have crapped on more racers' careers than any other Racing Corp. in history.

Read Rossi's book and he tells about the insanity there.

Stoner can come back and do whatever he wants to, anytime.
