Yes, it's fake. I've seen it before from someone else on different boards...
In regards to "laughing it off"... We all make jokes that aren't exactly politically correct in the company of friends we know it won't bother. But putting it on a public board for anyone to see is pushing the line. I don't mind the occasional non-PC joke and think the whole PC movement needs to get tossed in the proverbial dumpster. But sometimes you can cross the line of decency.
