  • Should I paint it? Inner dilemma...

I have had my Kat for about a month now. I like the red, but I chipped the front fairing up while removing the "Katana" scripts with a 3M wheel. Not a big deal since the front end had a couple chips anyway, but now that I'm ready to paint the front I noticed some dings on the tail and a faded grab bar.

SO, being a painter by trade, I'm naturally drawn to going crazy on this thing. On the other hand, I really love the stock Katana's look and the pearl red factory color is very nice. If I go custom I'm looking at either a 2- or 3- color scheme using Hot Hues or HoK custom colors, or a black scheme using flat clear for graphics and very little red for highlights. Thanks for the input!

Go with a variation on stock. Red is the fastest color.
Don't forget, stickers add 10hp each.

I voted black with the flat/clear graphics and red accents.... But if had a different screen-name I may have voted differently...

what do u do after painting in us.
do you have to register your new color to your owner papers?

here they are asking for nearly 300 dollars to change the color of your bike on papers and an invoice from a company who painted the bike.

              that's crazy.

usually I don't even change the ownership on my bikes. The last time I did, I just told them I painted it and paid $10.00 for a new ownership.

                  yes that is sick.
mine is blue-white on the papers.and i want to paint the tail to blue.but i have to pay extra 300 dollars.and i have to find an invoice.and i have to pay extra tax for taht invoice to get from a company.even i am painting the bike.and the percentage of it is %18.

last year with my ex bike i went on a travel.i realised that i lost my registration plate.and after i get back to istanbul i have had an accident and lost my papers.for the papers and plate of the bike of my own i paid more than 200 bucks.
