  • I got a gopro!!

Well not yet, but Im confident that the deal is going through. A guy put it up on Craigslist with a 32 gb SD card, 3 batteries, wall charger, but no housing, freshly returned from Gopro after being serviced/refurbished. He's asking $150 for it. I offered him an extra laptop I have laying around. The laptop was free so that sweetens the deal. I told him I'd put a bigger hard drive in it and buy a new battery for it. (about $40-$50 worth of upgrades.) I just got $50 for fixing a buddies computer so the money I spend on the laptop will also have been free. The guy sounds like he is going to bite. Its a go pro hero 2. So my question is this, I know theres gotta be a bunch of people on here that also has a gopro or similar recording device. Where are some good spots for cool looking camera angles? I jokingly told one of my buddies that I'm going to have mounting brackets ALL OVER my bike. I've thought about a rear facing angle, a helmet or chest cam, maybe something to see my gauges and one out front facing forward. I would like to ultimately edit up a sweet riding video with different camera angles and things like that. Anybody ever had success with stuff like that?

Not a Kat, but some ideas: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ikEBAWVQllM

Another nice angle is if you can get it slightly off the bike in back, facing forward:

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong while trying to embed the video???

I have the sony version but use the gopro mounts as they are much better.
Target sells a grab bag of gopro mounts for $20.00 that are pretty cool.
so far I have used the helmet one. It also swivels to the rear. You tube will give you more ideas on where to place them. Just remember the mounts tape are made by 3M so once you stick it there its there for good.

Got up in the mountains just outside of Denver today and wish I had taken my sons Gopro. The scenery was spectacular. Came up over a right handed crest and the view just made me say wow out loud in my helmet. Pine forest with the road curving down into a small valley and snaking up the other side with snow covered peaks in the background!

I'm not big on sticking things to stuff. if any sticking is done it will be to a removable mounting plate. thanks for the heads up though. =]

RAM mounts make one to use a gopro with. It uses the ball end just like any of their other mounts but then has the part you put the bolt through that holds the gopro case. I have not ordered one yet but seems a good way to go for bar mounting anyways. The other views would be difficult without doing the sticky mounts.
