  • '98 bike, '93 wheel, Which tire?

OK, now as far as tire-to-wheel matching goes....
I couldn't find the correct front wheel for my '98 600
(more accurately, I wouldn't pay the prices they were asking)
So I found an older wheel, from a '93.
Will I have any issues running the 98 tire? Or should I get the 110/80?

I'm sure it's here in the forum, somewhere. But I can never find it.

front wheel? I do believe the fronts were the same size, so you can run what you have now, though I think most people are running 120/70.

If you are talking about the front wheel, 120/70ZR17.
If you are talking about the rear, 150/70ZR17 (& nothing larger!).

Since you mentioned a 110/80, I'm going to guess you are talking about the front...

        yes, front.
I was going on the info at one of the tire sites; it said 88-97 was 110/80.

        Thanks

yes the 110/80 is the stock size on the pre98's. atleast on the 750's. i went with a 120/70 for a replacement.
