On our 17" wheel swaps, we had to use 10mm worth of washers per front brake caliper, so 20mm total. The Kat-1100 triple is really wide, so I had the idea that the post98 triple tree may be narrower which would eliminate the need for the washers.
If you have a post98 (or a mid 90s Bandit 600) triple tree, could you measure the spread ? They are all 41mm
The magic number we need is 15.5cm/150mm.
Also had the idea of installing Kat-1100 forks on a 600 or 750 in order to get the cartridge forks and 90mm brake calipers...keep that between us That being said, I wonder if the cartridge lowers (outer) tubes will interchange with the standard non-cartridge uppers (inners) ?

Okay, I think I understand. The focus is take out the spacers. Those spacers are under the caliper mounts, or on the axle line to fill space between the wheel hub?

I'll see what I can measure out on parts I have.

        I got a 145mm spread on the pre 600/750.

Was not able to locate a confirmed 98+ triple atm. Thought I had one, but... it's avoiding me atm for some reason.

I do know they will have different measurements. They were not exactly the same when I did the swap on fred's bike... which was confusing because they thought they were. Hrm... maybe I can find if I posted some info on those measurements when I did that conversion.

Yeap, behind the brake calipers. The axles needed a little spacer too, but not that much.
EDIT: Well, at least for my Bandit 1200 wheel. If I remember correct, shpielers didn't use spacers on his GSXR wheel...which has me wondering

It could be a difference on dishing for the rotors. Meaning, swap rotors would be a simple fix instead of swapping forks or triples.

I used a rotor manufacturing site a while back that had all specs on many rotors for most bikes a while back. let me see if I can find that link.

            Here we go...

            http://www.metalgear.com.au

So... what I would do is look up each of the different rotor options to see if you can match up some specs to work better for the application combination your runnin.

Actually Krey, funny you say that because I thought about that too and I've went to that website already. Unless I over looked something, I couldn't find the specs for GSXR rotors. I guess its because there are so many variations But like I said, maybe I over looked them or something.
FYI, the spacing for the axles (at least on the B12 rim) is 4mm total, so 2mm on each side of the wheel. If the long adjustable spacer on the right hand side was longer, it would only take a 2mm spacer on the speedometer gear side.
