Sorry to hear you had to drop her. I hope the cager stopped to check if you were ok.
Good that you wore some gear though. You experienced first hand how important it is, even at low speeds.
Replacing the starter cover should be easy enough. You'll both be up and running in no time.Open your mind, freedom's a state.

In my many years of riding I've had three situations where a car caused me to lay the bike down and they just kept on driving. One side-swiped me as they were passing me on a two lane highway. One of them even resulted in a broken collarbone. It is frustrating, unfair, but a reality of riding. You have to not only watch out for yourself, you have to anticipate what other drivers will do as well.
Glad you're okay and the bike doesn't look too bad. You'll be back in the saddle soon.sigpic Mulholland Hwy Ride

Thanks for the info on parts just ordered the cover!!Now I need turn signals!
It does suck that people don't watch out for bikers The person never even slowed down I doubt they even realized I was there at all!!!I am really sore this morning pretty bruised up,I still wanna ride though and I went to work this morning!!A bus driver I work with ,who said I couldn't handle the bike when I first got it,said "so I guess your not so tough now right?"My response was "well I layed it down I have road rash, bumps and bruises....but I'm here I showed up even though I can barely walk,if that doesnt make me tough I don't know what does and besides I didn't even break a nail!!! She didn't have much to say to that, just I'm glad your ok!!

This is the cheapest place I found for front signals http://www.yanashiki.com/ProductDeta...0026S&CartID=1
The rear are easier to replace because you can use universals
