  • What music do you listen to on rides?

Title pretty well says it all!

What music do you put onto your mp3 player when you're about to take off on a ride? I'm not looking for genres, I'm looking for Artists and Song titles. Feel free to include any extra info with the songs that you want.

"Hell Yeah" by Rev Theory (When I'm in the mood to ride a little faster than normal)
"I'm Awake Now" by the Goo Goo Dolls (When I'm in the mood to just cruise and forget about the stresses of life.

My iPhone is probably 75% comprised of slipknot, killswitch engage, tech nine, and meshuggah.

Then there's some journey, rage against the machine, Tom petty, tupac, twista, mudvayne, disturbed, metallica.

I listen to an extremely wide variety of music

My iPod is set to our local alternative rock station KROQ. I have a back up of mp3s just in case I'm in a bad reception area.

Been a tunehead since childhood, many moons ago...

          1. The Isley Brothers (Fight the Power and many songs)
          2. Donovan (Atlantis)
          3. Hank Jr. (A Country Boy Can Survive)
          4. Rolling Stones (Wild Horses/Memory Motel)
          5. Michael Martin Murphy (Geronimo's Cadillac)
          6. Judy Collins (Send in the Clowns)
          7. Keith Urban ('Til Summer Comes Around)
          8. Chuck Berry (Carol)
          9. Little Red Corvette (Prince)
          10. The Spinners (Rubberband Man)
          11. Bob Dylan (Shooting Star)
          12. Fleetwood Mac (Landslide)
          13. Todd Rundgren (Hello, It's Me)
          14. Gary Stewart (Drinkin' Thing/She's Actin' Single...I'm Drinkin' Doubles)
          15. Bruce Springsteen (Incident on 57th Street/The Fever)
          16. Jefferson Airplane (Comin' Back to Me)
          17. Taylor Swift (15)
          18. Sugar Ray (Every Morning)
          19. Steely Dan (Deacon Blues)
          20. Neil Young (Cortez the Killer)
          21. Lady Antebellum (American Honey)
          22. 4 Non Blondes (What's Up)

This is like holding out a spoonful of water and saying, "Okay, here's the ocean for you." Music is more or less my life. I've always gone for songs that have a great deal of imagery. I can hear a song and watch a movie in my mind. I kept track of my early adolescent years not by a diary or a calendar, but by which Beatle song was currently on the radio. Thanks so much, Yoko. Fine thread, dude. Really fine thread.

          18.

The Fur Elise really sets that party mood. I dunno what it is about that song, but man....

                        New DEFTONES!!!!!!!
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
                        And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

I don't typically listen to music while riding as I don't want to have the music interfere with my ability to hear what is going on around me. But, if I did listen to music, it would be the same things I listen to while driving in the car.

I have 2198 songs on my ipod touch. Most are complete albums that I just love, and typically most artists I have multiple albums and will listen to just about anything that they have produced. While driving, what I listen to depends on my mood and I have a very wide range of listening choices.

Things like Andre Rieu (classical), Jim Reeves, Johnny Horton, Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins (his gunfighter ballads), The Judds, Garth Brooks, Guns and Roses (Apetite for destruction), Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Nancy Sinatra, Nickleback, Acoustic Alchemy (jazz), Henry Mancini, Brian Setzer, George Thorogood, Aerosmith, The B-52's, The Rolling Stones, The Doors, Billy Idol, Blondie, Brooks and Dunn, ELO, Jethro Tull, Prince, Shakira, Tina Turner, Waylon Jennings, ZZ Top, ect.

I will say that I don't have any alternative music to speak of, but I do like love hard rock (metal rock), classic country, some upbeat classical, blues, some new age, and some jazz. Most of what I love to listen to while driving are songs with really good rythms.

I love these threads - gives me ideas for songs and as luck would have it, I have been loading up my fairly newly acquired touch for the upcoming rally trip. As far as what I listen to - just about anything and everything, but on the bike it needs to be rocking.
