Clutch adjustment question

Quick question about the clutch adjustment..ive followed the directions on the howto on katriders but with my adjustables set to 3 i have no clutch to start the bike or change gears..if i set them to 6 (closest to the pivot point i have a clutch.. which way should i take the adjustments from here .. i turned the coarse adjustment out some and could get it to work on 4 and 5 but not three which is perfect for my grip

Dunno about the adjustables but when i did mine i wound in affectily loosening the cable at both ends adjust thr screw then add the slack from the adjuster on top of the clutch housing
