  • changing out the front sprocket.....

Just curious but when changing out the front sprocket, do I use a 32mm socket? Also , is there one of those metal washers that is bent up around the bolt that holds it all together. Only reason i am asking is because I haven't taken the case off yet. Thanks for the help fellow katriders!!

    Yeah, pretty sure it's 32mm.

No bent washer, there is a bolt at the end of the shaft that holds the speed sensor on. That needs to be removed, then the larger 32mm nut that snugs up against the sprocket.

Then remember the very first thing you do is take off the sprocket cover,a nd loosen that bolt.

Do this before you do any other apsects to chain removal or taking the rear wheel off.

Unless you have air impact driver with good torque....

I found I had to wedge the rear wheel with chain attached to get the nut off with an 1/2" high tq impact driver. Food for thought. Pull the cover, remove small bolt and then get that nut off ASAP. then you can remove rear wheel etc.

DO NOT have the transmission in gear either... leave the chain on.. have someone step on the rear brake to keep the wheel from moving..

                  BTW , I couldn't find a 32mm . But I DID find an 1.25" , which is apparently the same size ...
