  • Fixed my license plate bracket

When I got my bike the PO chopped the rear fender and mounted the plate where it is barely visible from the rear. Not to mention it wasn't lit.

So I basically took some "L" brackets and painted them with black "Undercoating" paint (can't really tell from the pics) and mounted them to the existing plate bracket. I also bought some black plate bolts with integrated LEDs and used them to mount the plate to the "L" brackets. I wired the LEDs in under the seat to some unused connections. And this is what I came up with. The plate also light up when the ignition is switched to "Park".

Let me know what you think of my first "MOD".

can't believe the PO rode with the plate tucked up away like that, seems like it's just begging for the wrong kind attention. Looks Much Better Now..

See alot of SS bike with that kindve LP placement here an in NKY, they never seem to get hassled leaving bike nights, although I honestly dont see how.
My opinion, yours looks much better now.

I mounted mine that way just put a slight bend in the plate if u stand back 20 foot u can see it just fine and I've never had any problems but I like your idea. Might just hafta do that since they're starting to crack down on that around here

I just remounted my plate from my swing arm to back under the seat, and have been deciding what to use for a plate light, and I really like those plate bolt/light fasteners you have. I may have to steal your idea for my bike. Where did you get the lights?
It's all good! It's goody good!

Here is what I purchased from ebay:

                    And here is the auction:

Black LED License Plate Bolt Light Motorcycle Trailer

It's a BUY IT NOW auction at $14.95 or MAKE OFFER both with free shipping. I offered $10.95 and got rejected. Turned around and offered $11.95 shipped and it was accepted. Very happy with the bolts and with the fast shipping.

                    Hope this helps.
