They don't come in green on the showroom floor, however, Kawi sells the green plastics for the bike to convert under their Custom Paint options on the Kawasaki site.

I love my ZX-14. I've had it since February of 07. After a few months of ownership, I realized I was riding my 06 Kat 750 only out of obligation. "I guess I'll take the Kat today. I haven't ridden it in awhile" The ZX was just too much fun to ride. I finally faced the facts and sold the Kat.

Nero and Zepp own one.
That should be warning enough.
Keep the Kat.

Yeah, I think Kawi was trying to further differentiate from the 'Busa with that particular styling feature. With the fact that they were going for the same basic goals, I guess Kawi was trying to avoid being accused of ripping Suzuki off.

Personally, I didn't like it either when I was looking to buy the bike, but I was willing to overlook that for what it offers in other areas. It grew on me though.

Not to be outdone, Suzuki decided to make the tail of the new 'busa look like sh*t. I guess the competition continues.

Looks aside, you really can't beat the big ZX or the 'busa for high mile munching. Comfy, quick, and smooth. Like a nice cognac. (sheesh it's still morning and I'm talkin' booze).

Aesthetics aside, the four projector beams up front are super-bright. I went with HIDs shortly after I bought the bike and the few times I've done night rides in a group, everyone has wanted me to ride up-front.
