  • Photobucket is free again.

Photobucket reversed their "lockdown" on photos. They took a ton of criticism, lost customers, and decided to unlock the free option once again. So people, please post away using Photobucket if that is your preferred way of posting.

Also, a lot of the threads that used Photobucket in the past are working......unless the photo was removed by the owner.

    Want proof?

Here's the email supporting the fact.

Starting October 10th , you will see a discreet “Proudly hosted on Photobucket” watermark on any images you display on sites other than Photobucket.

This change will allow us to continue offering our image hosting service to you as a free user. If you don’t mind the watermark and wish to continue as a free user, you won’t need to do anything. If you prefer no watermarking, simply upgrade to one of our affordable premium plans starting at $4.03 per month and enjoy all of the benefits of membership.

Yeah. When they did all that, they essentially blocked my own access to my own stuff and tried to sell me access for I think $350.00. I can't remember whether or not I got all my pics back off of photobucket, or if I had to find them again on my phones/camera. What I do remember is that it was such a hassle, I deleted everything off of photobucket, which they also fought me on, deleted my account, and set my email to automatically put anything from them in spam. Never going back.

I'm currently using Imgur for all my photos. I've been pleased with them so far.

PS-Bill, resize your photo. It's massive.

Right, something that is done automatically on most sites.

Flickr is changing things up again as well, removing the free tier.

They were also notoriously slow in the past.

You know the saying, 'screw me once, shame on you...'?

It has modified my internet forum usage in a major way too.
