Anybody: Key code and removing ignition ?'s

I have had a couple locksmiths tell me that there should be a code on my bike telling which ignition key it is. Can anyone tell me where this code would be on a 92 kat 600? Also, can anyone point me to a step by step on removing the ignition cylinder when the steering is locked?

do a search, the ignition thing has been talked about many times.. I think the key code is on the key...

(keeps you from stealing bikes that way)

the key code is usally on the rear seat lock which it cover with the tail section and a plastic cover which makes it a pain to locate if you were stealing the bike but if you own it and can take it apart its easy to get too
