  • -1 60 rear?

    lol
ya so got a older katana want to have a lil fun w/ . Getting some new sprockets for it
Want to go down 1 and 55-60 in the rear
Does anyone know how big you can go w the rear sprocket before it doesn't fit? Will that rub on the case?
    thanks for any help!

Jeez, I went -1/+3.....that helped the acceleration alot. Why would you want to go so big out back?? Unless ur gonna try to make it a stunt bike...

don't lower your front sprocket. That will increase chain/sprocket wear super fast. Just make the rear larger.

There are companies that'll make as big a sprocket as you want . Often it'll cost you more , though .....
But yeah , have fun stunting that thing , but don't expect a TON of support HERE with that . That's looked on as abuse to these poor old bikes , and well , abuse is BAD .

I was wanting to know how that affected the highway performance?? I would like to get a little more on the low end. I have a stock 96 750 Kat. It really does not come to life till around 5500r's

I think the pre750's are geared different than the post600's. I know on my bike, it raised the RPM's about 1000 at 70mph. I turn 6300 RPM at 70mph. Don't know how bad it effected my gas mileage though...my speedo hasn't read right since my wreck 3.5 years ago.

actually, I DON'T know that. I DO know the pre 600 is 14/45 or 46 112 link chain. I THOUGHT the pre 750 was 14/47 with a 116 link chain. It could be 15/47 118 link which would make it identicle to a 98+ 600
