turn signal light bulbs

On my 1988 600 the PO put aftermarket front signals on. The left signals do not blink, they just burn steady. If i swith the left and right front bulbs then the left blinks and the right doesn't. So i have narrowed it down to the buld. I have tried about 4 differrent bulbs and cannot find one that will blink. And of course the RT Front doesn't have any numbers on it so i can't order one. The stock bulbs won't fit in the lens. Also, if i do put a stock bulb in there it will blink, it just won't fit under the lens

Any Ideas?

yeah, I have an idea, check the turn signal relay.

if that were the problem why would changing the light bulbs make it work?
