    Good evening to all:
Brand new to your excellent forum, not new to motorcycles.
Aquired a 91 basket case 600 last evening and knew that I would need a place to go for helpful information.
Basket Case was a result of a young squid that thought he had to take the engine apart because the bike would not start after he had removed the carbs.
He didn't know what to do next......so, I now have a Katana to play with.
Current rides are 03 Suzuki B12 and an 89 ZX 600. The bandit gets the most work outs, love the power but the Kat appears to be a promising play bike.
Have been riding for about 45 years and done most of what can be done on a bike but know that there is always more to learn and it seems this is the place that one can learn.

Just an update on the basket case.
I was hoping that the young lad had only started taking of the head, but alas, no such luck.
However, everthing appears to be there except the upper fairing.
Top end and pistons appear to be in good shape, cams are clean and no indicated flat spots. Heads even look pretty good. Carbs are clean, wiring in intact, brakes good, brand new Dunlops on front and back, still has all the nipples.
I was thinking that as long as it is this far down, I will freshen everything up.
I have found the full fairing either from Dennis Kirk or JC Whitney, I will check AirTech though.
I don't feel bad at all for the purchase, the tires are worth more than I paid for the whole thing.
