  • crankcase/signal generator covers sliders/skidplate?

i guess a buddy of mine said he saw an older gsxr with extra plates that attached ontop of the crankcase cover and signal generator cover... i guess it makes sense, since it sticks out so far, it's going to be the first place that grinds during a low side, but trying to google for them isn't turning anything up...

anyone heard or seen of them?

You can grab a set of NRC (Niagara Race Crafters) engine covers.

These can be found on MANY professional race bikes around the world and will withstand high speed drops far better then other engine covers. not to bad priced either. They are way stronger, much thicker and more durable then any stock cover

        wow, pretty sweet...

kinda pricey tho, i was just hoping for something to bolt onto the current cover that was like, 1/2" or 1" of whatever material regular sliders are made of

Maybe get something machined. I dunno. I seen the new BMW's have rubber skid pucks (kinda like knee pucks) on there cylinder heads that stick out, maybe you can do something like that.

The case sliders look cool, but dont think for s second in a wreck you wont break off the little mounting bolts on that set up. chances are it will bust the engine case and not just the cover

guess it depends on the wreck

Only $69 US for the right side ignition cover stock it $30
$139 for the left side stock is $90

you wont find a better deal anywhere

"The ignition Cover has 2 tabs extending beyond gasket face that "wrap-around" the crankcase. This design adds to the cover's staying power and doesn't easily get wiped off since there are only 5 fasteners holding it in place. Also, our cover has adequate clearance to retain the stock oil pressure switch. "

Bob Brown from Empire GP epoxies hockey pucks to his engine covers. Works like a charm, and its cheap too.
