Spent yesterday attending FAST school at a nearby racetrack. Man, was that FUN !!!
The day starts off with about 1.5 hr of in class stuff and then riding.
You get two 10 minute sessions of "follow the leader" with an instructor leading each group. then after lunch you get two sessions of solo riding (other ppl out there but no instructor to follow) while the instructors take notes and then give you critiques/advice afterwards on how to improve. One more follow the leader session and one last solo session. Starts at 9am and we were there until 6pm.
Here are some pics :
A few of me on the track...(keep in mind that I'm used to riding a harley !)
and here's the guy mentioned in the title (I couldn't think of anything to rhyme with "oh my" ) - he was my instructor. Right after lunch (before the solo sessions) they had each group go out and practice some braking exercises. I apparently take criticism well ! (it's hard to use two fingers to brake when you're used to using four....but I had it by the end of it !!)
E'eryone gets a certificate at the end of the day saying you completed the course (this certificate allows you to buy a racing licence )
And at the end of the day they award a "Top Rider" plaque to one person in each group (we were approx. 30 ppl and we had been divided into three groups at the beginning of the day). The plaque is for the Most Improved. Guess who won it in my group !!
Getting up at 3:45am sux but when it's to spend a day on a bike at a track it's worth it. I'm sooo going again !!!
