    SV650s front brake mastercylinder

    Just picked this up on ebay.


    SV650s front brake mastercylinder. It should arrive sometime next week. I've been looking for a front MC with a remote resevoir that was compatible with 98+ front calipers. It'll help with clearance issues on my clip-ons. I think I found one. While searching through fiches to find compatible parts I found that '99-'01 SV650 and 98+ kat 600 front calipers and rotors are identical. So The MC should be close to the same size. I can't wait to try it out.

      The fun part comes when you go to mount the resevior on the triples and realize you don't have any kind of bracket that will work.

        I've already been thinking about that. I'm not sure exactly how to do it. I need to see the actual part.

          Keep the info coming! A friend of mine offered me his GSXR 750 ´00 front master cylinder for free, I only need a reservoir and make a set of steel brake lines, and yes, the bracket to put it on the clip on! LOL!!
          I have too a set of Kawasaki ZZR1100 rotors and calipers. So, I need time to work in the bike and try to performance the brakes!

              Nope. I've been looking for a direct bolt-on for a while. I can't find one. Seems no one can find one.

              I found this http://www.pretech.co.uk/calipers/calipers.htm. They make 6 pot calipers for sv650s and since 98+calipers/rotors are identical to sv650s it might work. Way outta my price range though so I didn't even bother to follow up any further.

                Yeah, I though that I would be a superlucky guy if them fits, but at least calipers can be adapted! Or search for a front ZZR (or ZX7) rim!

                  Just come back of my friends motorbike shop he has upgraded to a gixxer 1000 from a gixxer 750, because here in Spain there is a special offer and the 1000 costs 11539 € and the 750 costs 11399 €.
                  He gonna race the formula extreme and he gonna put on the 1000 a Brenbo front radial master cilinder and then he gonna sell me the stock one, brand new. I gonna try to mount this. See you.

                    I just received the sv650 mastercylinder today. It's in great condition. I mounted it on the bars to see where I will be mounting and the resevoir. I will be able to use the SV bracket just need to bend it a little. All I need to do is put a longer hose to put between the MC and resevoir. It seems like regular rubber hose. Any recommendations as to the type of hose to use?

                      Here's how I mounted mine,
                      Just remove the bracket, get a longer bolt for the bar mount, and bolt though the res, straight to the mount.


                      I had to trim some of the res to make it sit more vertical.

                        Thanks for the idea chriskatana. I'd really like to install the resevoir on the top triple clamp though. It will help with some clearance issues I have since I put the clip-ons below the triple clamp.
