  • Which Exhaust Header Gaskets?

1999 600. Delkevic header. They sent some that look like this :

They dont fit inside the engine exhaust port. They are a tad too big. Should I force them in with a socket or something?? Or use the ones that came with the stock exhaust that look and fit differently. http://www.ebay.com/itm/EXHAUST-GASK...pSTDqU&vxp=mtr

...And can you guys see my sig pics? lol

    Yes, can see sig pics.

Exhaust gaskets are compression gaskets. They are meant to be a tight fit, and seal by you fitting the exhaust to the head. If you remove the exhaust, your supposed to replace the gaskets because they dont' "expand" again (most people don't, especially with kats... haha)

So they should be tight, and putting the exhaust on and bolting it down will "compress" them to fit/seal properly.

That isn't to say they didn't send you the wrong parts. If they definitely are just too big, then... oops.

Thanks Krey. I swapped out the 99 engine with a 97 600 engine. The gaskets for that one were still in... We did get the bike started, but it didnt run long due to carb issues. Fuel flooding 3rd & 4th cylinders. I checked the float height. Spot on 13mm (service manual) Also all my main jets are 114. I read that Cylinders 1&4 should be 115 and cylinders 2&3 should be 112.5 Im gonna post and search in carbs...
