  • Metzeler Tourance

I toyed with the idea of an enduro/trailie type tyre last winter but came across a promaxx street cheap. I've since bought a metzeler tourance rear tyre and fitted it tonight and I must say its pretty amazing! I didn't really know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised by the way it felt secure and inspired confidence on damp road conditions. Just thought I'd share that.

I had thought of doing this at one point when they had some duel sport tires they were going to throw out at work, but when I found out the tires where super old I decided against it.

Well I've had a day on it today (bikes a 750 post), and I find the tyre fantastic! Very happy with this choice. Right to the very edge of it to the point where the sides of my boots and the side stand scrape the floor, its brilliant. I thought I had suspension issues til now. Can't believe the transformation! If the mileage I get from it is average (4,000 for me normally) I think I'll stick with this tyre in future.

That rear tire makes the bike look so aggressive...like straight out of MADMAX or something...LOL. I like how it looks

What is it meant for? Gravel, dirt and asphalt?

Not a fan of metzler, they were the go to in the 80's. Much better tires are available.

Bmw gs's and bikes like that run them usually, a dual purpose tyre. I'm on my second one now. Love it!

It's been a couple of years since I posted about this tyre. I've been through quite a few since! Predictable and solid.
Needed yet another replacement only to find I could only lay hands on the newer version. The tread pattern is less aggressive looking but is similarly priced.
I took the chance and so far am not disappointed! I've not yet used it in the wet but I've given it a good workout and it grips tremendously on the welsh mountain roads where I live. Worth a look I can assure you!
New version is called Tourance Next. P

I can now confirm, it's brilliant in wet, cold and leafy climes!
