  • Slow tire leak

Got my new conti motions put on last Tuesday at the hole in the wall shop across the street from my house. Dude said that cause the chrome is flaking from the wheel that it might leak and he had to glue the tire. Fast forward to last night and today. Went for a short ride to the store last night cause my truck is in the shop. The ride was a little weird. Put the bike away. Got home from work today and it was completely flat. Put 36 psi and a new valve core in and will check it in the am before my ride to work. Question is , is he just being lazy or do I really need a new wheel? Also what are the chances ill be able to reuse my tire that has less then 100 miles on it? As money is a little tight atm and this is my only running vehicle till probably Friday

If you have a chrome rim on a Kat and the chrome is coming off then yes it is possible that the tire will not seat properly and leak. I would recommend hitting E-Bay for a replacement rim, and Yes you should be able to reuse the same tire on a different rim.

Thanks. Talked to a shop by my work and he said he can get the chrome off and seat the tire and still not charge me what they guy originally did.

Thanks. Found a few near me for around 100 bucks. Last question. If i get the tire off and sand the rim or strip it and either repaint or leave it bare will that maybe help? 100 bucks is a little hard to come by after the new chain tires gear and some other stuff. Bike bandit also said i could return the tire and they would send me a new one

As long as it isn't bent and is clean and smoothe I think it would be fine.

I dont think the rim is bent. The old tire held air. I think when that one got pulled it pulled the paint. Id rather be out a 5 dollar can of paint than 100 on a wheel i dont need. Thanks everyone
