  • katana/surfboard?

    I surf I live about 15 mins from beach anyone have a good idea how to mount or strap a surfboard to a katana?

    Goodluck, I've strap guitar equipment to my kat, an know members that strap hockey equipment to their kats. But Im not sure about surf boards..

      I could probably come up with something but wondering if anyone had any different ideas or any solutions

        wow. that is the absolute FIRST time I have ever seen that question asked, and I've seen a lot of stuff come floating through this place!

        I would think that the board's weight is the least of your worries, but it's sheer bulkiness that will give you trouble. It's going to act like a sail however you mount it on the bike. Laying flat is the best way to transport one, you know that....maybe go get an old aircooled bug with a roofrack for the beach trips... Aside from how to carry the board, where you gonna stash your riding gear when you get to the beach? Just gonna leave it in the sand?

          I have a carbon fiber back pick I can stuff it in and lock my helmet onto my bike, and my surfboard is maybe 6'? if that yeah the wind sail was worrying me.. I have a truck but at 15mpg... ew! Haha.. I know I'm going to have a lot of people yelling at me on this topic
          but I am sure it can be done

            I'm not saying it can't be done, I'm saying it will be awkward no matter how you manage it...

              Yeah.. I know it will be very awkward I was thinking try to tuck it close into me and the bike and fasten it tight and pray >.<

                  Hmm, it would have to lay flat against the side of the bike. Maybe fab up a bracket to where the passenger foot peg is for the back. And possible to the front most part of the frame. Your board will have to stick out past the end of the bike so no wheelies for sure! But besides being awkward strattling the bike and board it could work. I think.

                    genius lol >.< I was googling surfboard mounted to motorcycle need to word things better haha

                    I have these U bracket I was thinking about somehow fabricating something like a fast snap mount, instead of screwing them there or welding, snap the brackets in and out when not in use

                            Well I have this temporary use lol I just a tie down strap and heavy duty string double rapped cause one breaks just drove 70 down the road to test it out hugs the bike nice and almost same length of my bike so I have to probs at all!
