  • Motogp\''shorty'' ebay pipe

So, looking for something different and do not want to mutilate my current exhaust. I saw this exhaust for fifty dollars plus shipping on the bay and was wondering what you guys thought? Does anybody have it? I Imagine its stupid loud, but im kind of tired of ''I didnt see you'' in traffic. Hopefully theyll just have to adjust their stereos after I install one of these.

Should I buy? Worth the fifty bucks?

First of all, a loud pipe is not going to stop cagers from trying to kill you.

Second, it's gonna be way loud.

I like the look and was thinking og putting one on my bike for the track, but ended up with something else.
    .

My wife asked me, "Why don't you make love to me like they do in the movies?" So I did and she got mad. Evidently we don't watch the same type of movies.

Its worth a shot! Stock exhaust seems just too quiet to be noticed. Probably going to give this a try. anybody out there have this?

It's essentially an exhaust tip with a resonator..... like something that you might mount on a 1976 Trans Am. It will be really loud..... much too loud for my taste (and my bike isn't quite at all!)

I had a straight pipe on my bike for a little bit: it won't make drivers notice you more in traffic. I still got cut off, changed lanes into, and pulled out in front of just as much with the straight pipe as I do with the V&H setup, and just slightly less often than I did on the bike I sold in the spring (which was very quiet at speed).

The difference really only comes when you are actually next to the offending car. With a louder-than-stock exhaust, people can hear you NEXT to them on the highway, but in many cases they still can't hear you behind them. Cars are quiet these days.... a lot of sound deadening, combined with either the radio or talking on the phone, and you have a situation where most people on the road won't hear you coming, only if you are next to them or pulling away from them.

In my experience, it wouldn't matter if you painted your bike dayglo orange, wore a pink, yellow and white clown suit, covered the bike in strobe lights, and blared "la bomba" from a horn constantly while riding...... you're on a bike, nobody can see you.

I bought the same pipe and i love it. The pipe cost a little over 60, you need to rejet so a dynojet stage 1 jet kit was around 120, and to have oneonta motorsports rejet it for me was anoher 90. I think it is much safer than the stock exhaust especially when it comes to animals, anything in the road gets out of the way when your comming.

It sounds great but is stupid loud it was by far the best mod i did to my bike.[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=33ZZOsTMpmk"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=33ZZOsTMpmk[/ame]

Do I need a stage 1 kit? What are the adverse consequences of not "rejettinh"

You know you can buy the stuff to make that for $22 at autozone, right? It's a 45* bend, cut down to the proper angle, with a resonator tip riveted to it.

And I don't know what "stages" are what, but you're cutting out the most restrictive portion of the exhaust. You will need to rejet. It's better to see how you're running after the modification and make individual adjustments as needed.

Is there a how-to on how to tune the engine after shortening the exhaust like this?

                          It arrived today.

                          It is ignorant loud.

I love it, it makes me feel safe, and even though I probably could have spent a few hours running about buying materials and borrowing tools to make it, I dont regret the buy.

Makes the kat look much thinner in the back, now my saddlebags stand out!

                          But yes, ignorant loud.

I too have made this mode with parts from autostore, be carefull running ur bike with out jetting I have 04 750 and bike leaned way out at upper rpm and would not go over 120 mph. extended high speed with lean jetting can overheat burn up ant stop your engine from running.
