  • 1982 Kat 750 enginie swap Question

Has anyone done a liquid cooled motor swap in a 1982 frame ?? Tried searching but nothing found.

    I have a crashed 2000 GSXR750 I want to make a liquid cooled 1982 Kat from it.

    Thanks for advice and help.

I'd contact Ne-oblie or Waltari. Ne-o has a oil cooled GSXR engine in his.

I have a bandit 1200 oil cooled motor in my 82 which is a relatively straight forward swap, but I can only recall one water cooled vintage and it had some pretty extensive frame modifications. Check out their site to see what they did: http://www.motormaniaracing.com/moto...SX-mpatsos.htm

        I have a 1989 GSXR750 Streetfighter project I could swap over.

"Inside sits a Hayabusa motor " They use a Busa motor. It's totaly different than a GSXR. You can't swap a Busa into a GSXR frame without major modes.

More reseach needed. Unfortunatly I just missed a 1982 Frame with motor for cheap.

Oil cooled engine into air cooled frame is a very easy swap but water cooled into air cooled is a pita & never looks tidy imo

Ive done the oil cooled swap quite a few times if you need any info on that but have always discounted the water cooled swap as more trouble than its worth, much more easy to just build a new frame to take the motor if you want something different

                cheers tone
Renthals & twin spots do not make a streetfighter !
