  • SoCal Rider

    Hello all:

Im a 36 yo guy from SoCal, South Riverside County, that rides a blue 2000 Katana 600.

For the last 3 years I've been commuting to work 108 miles round trip, I repeat, round trip, therefore 54 miles being one way,,, I work about 3 times a week so I do no less than about 330 miles a week commuting. I ride to work in North San Diego county.

All this mileage talk is due to the fact that today, on 1/23/2006 I broke the 100,000 mile mark and Im stoked about it. Consider the fact that I purchased this bike brand new from the Stealership back in 8/2000 with 0.8 mile on the odo. and you may understand my excitement.

Im also planning to purchase my second bike relatively soon, most likely a 2006 'busa and retire the Katana to an easier life. We'll see how the finances look after doing this years taxes, eh?

I intend to keep the Kat running forever and if not then I'll turn it into some kind of garage mechanical statue. I doubt that I'd ever part from my beloved Katana, yep! I actually love the bike.

    Nice to meet you all.

I do the 96 mile roundtrip to work myself. I understand where you're coming from, but I wouldn't trade doing it on a Kat for anything. I had 120,000 miles on my last bike before I retired it and my 2005 Kat 750 will be the same way.

        Welcome.
