I am new the Katana. I had a 2004 SV650S for about 6 months and had to sell it to get a house. I'd been having the urge to ride again and wanted something inexpensive, so my wife picked out a used 2002 Katana 600, which we just got yesterday. I was a little skeptical about buying it since I had heard so many other people claim the Kat to be such an awful bike, but I am really quite pelased with the bike. Of course I've only put about 70 miles on it so far, but I find it enjoyable to ride. I joined here in hopes of finding more information about my new purchase. So, I'll be browsing the board here searching for information.

I'm retarded... I rolled it out of the garage and put it on it's side stand as I do every morning I ride it to work (I wasn't going to work today, was going on a memorial ride for a recently passed coworker). I knew this would happen eventually, since the driveway is slightly angled. Anyway, right after starting the bike I turned around to walk back into the garage to get my helmet, jacket and gloves, then I heard the bike hit the ground.Originally posted by Zukiman It had apparently been down on the left side before, had some scratches already, but this time I cracked the cover on the left side and oil began leaking.
